Ford 12-Inch Screen Upgrade Guide
Choose the right 12-inch screen package for your factory system, preferred interface and future SYNC4 plans.
Start with the system in your truck
A 12-inch screen is not one universal kit. Confirm your model year, original screen and factory SYNC system before selecting a package:
- Factory SYNC3 8-inch: choose a compatible package that retains your original APIM, or select a package with a prepared APIM.
- No SYNC, SYNC1 or SYNC2: a prepared SYNC3 APIM and additional conversion hardware may be needed. Available configurations vary by vehicle and year.
- SYNC4 now: choose a complete SYNC4 conversion instead of a SYNC3-retention package.
- SYNC4 later: choose Ford Blue + SYNC4 Ready. Keep the installed kit and buy our compatible SYNC4 APIM module when you are ready to upgrade; no other kit parts need replacing.

SYNC4 later: keep the kit, change only the APIM
With Ford Blue + SYNC4 Ready, you keep the entire installed 12-inch screen upgrade kit. When you want SYNC4, purchase our compatible SYNC4 APIM module and swap the APIM only.
Your screen, dash trim, harness and other kit components stay in place. No other accessories need to be replaced. The future SYNC4 APIM is purchased separately.
